Brother Al McBain – Obituary. Updated August 17
As most people know Al died in a plane crash near the end of July. I have looked for an Obituary but have not found anything yet. Al was a Station Attendant and was getting ready to retire from Air Canada. He was only a few flight hours away from completing his international commercial pilots licence and had a job lined up in the Maldives.

Geoffrey Michael Heide – Obituary
Geoffrey Michael Heide
February 9, 1951 – July 21, 2019
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Geoff with his family by his side at Willingdon Creek Village in Powell River, B.C. after a long courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Maureen (Mee), Son, Michael (Sheri), grandson Cooper, granddaughter Jolene. Sister’s Tracy (Jim), Nevia (Doug). Father, Norman E. Heide. Geoff has numerous nieces and nephews and children of our good friends who called him Uncle Geoff. He was preceded in death by his mother Edith in 2007. Geoff worked on the ramp at Vancouver International Airport and retired after 36 years with Air Canada/Canadian Airlines/CP Air. Geoff was a gentle soul who loved his family and friends. He loved classic cars, fishing, camping and puttering in his garage. He also enjoyed a rum and Pepsi at happy hour and a good laugh with good friends. He was a hard worker and was always there to lend a helping hand to his friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
District Bulletin 41 – AIR CANADA – TMOS NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE – July 29, 2019
Your 2019 – 2022 TMOS Negotiating Committee commenced mediation discussions with Air Canada and Vince Ready on July 22nd and 23rd. Air Canada demonstrated much of the same disinterest in meaningful negotiations that they displayed during the first 90 days of the process. The Committee remains undeterred and focused. Mediation talks will resume the week of August 12th and continue the week of August 19th. Read Bulletin here…

Council of Unions was able to secure a second meeting with the Company on this matter. That

DL140 Western region General Chairpersons Elections
Transportation District 140 Bylaws Article 11.03 states that:
“Nominations for General Chairperson(s) will take place at the first (1st) Local Lodge meeting within the affected region during the month of September.”
Also please note that members of LL764 will only be eligible to vote for two (2) of these General Chairpersons. Specifically they will be able to vote for EITHER the BC and Yukon Service and At Large GC positions OR they will be able to vote for the BC and Yukon Air Canada and At Large GC positions.

The Council of Unions was established to represent the interests of the unionized employees of Air Canada during a turbulent time that included pension insolvency. Leaders from each of Air Canada’s unions – the Air Canada Pilots Association (ACPA); Canadian Airline Dispatchers Association (CALDA); Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) – Air Canada Component; the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace workers (IAMAW); and Unifor – meet to discuss issues of common concern.
