DISTRICT 140 EFAP ONLINE ZOOM WORKSHOPS IN FRENCH

workshops with the help of Chris Saltel, Regional EFAP Coordinator in Quebec, the EFAP has worked
out a deal with psychologist, Jean-Marc Assaad, in Montreal to facilitate some similar online workshops

CHANGES TO THE LOCAL LODGE 764 NOMINATION AND ELECTION PROCESS FOR THE 40TH GRAND LODGE CONVENTION DELEGATES

Local Lodge delegates to the quadrennial Grand Lodge conventions are nominated and elected in accordance with the IAMAW constitution Article II, SEC 3. The constitution requires nominations to take place at Local Lodge April General membership meetings and elections to take place at the Local Lodge May General membership meetings in each convention year. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the cancellation of the April, May and June 2020 General membership meetings for just about all District and Local Lodges across North America. Read Bulletin here…

MTU MAINTENANCE CANADA LTD. BCLRC – SECTION 54 – UPDATE – 28th April

Further to our notice of April 22, 2020, discussions were held with the Company the afternoon of April
23, 2020, as planned, however the Company was unavailable to meet face to face with your
Committee. Accordingly, the parties agreed to meet further on Monday, April 27, 2020 to continue
discussions.

Over the two (2) meeting dates, our discussions focused on the Company’s eligibility for the
Canadian Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS), the 2020 workload forecast, the feasibility of
Workshare versus temporary layoffs, and other opportunities to mitigate layoffs, including voluntary
leaves, prime time vacation ratios, temporary assignments and VSIP’s. Read Bulletin here…

DISTRICT 140 EFAP ONLINE ZOOM WORKSHOPS

The District 140 EFAP have been in contact with a Company called Air Institute, they specialize
in resilience and mental fitness training. Air Institute is currently offering three on-line modules
dealing with mental health strategies that may help with struggles you or your family members
may be experiencing.

Your EFAP has secured all three workshops that are being offered, they are available to all
IAMAW members and their families. The dates and times for these workshops will be scheduled
later in the day on the East Coast, this will enable members to view across the country.

Our members continue to have their lives affected daily by the COVID-19 response across British Columbia and continuing Federal, Provincial and Municipal government directives on large gatherings and social distancing. These directives and an overriding concern for the health of our members has placed Local Lodge 764 in the position of once again having to cancel our monthly General membership meeting. As of right now, whether you choose CEWS or CERB, both options will include the Company and EFAP benefits for counseling. I am waiting to hear back from Air Canada, whether members with the BetterFit benefit program have to continue paying their premiums. Further to Bulletin #25 issued on April 16, 2020, please be advised that Air Canada has advised the Union that they have extended the deadline to April 17, 2020 at 20:00 EST (today) to voluntarily select preferences between the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) and the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) programs. IAM Adopts Alternate Processes Leading Up to Grand Lodge Convention

District Bulletin 21 – AIR CANADA MEMBERS (TMOS, FINANCE & CLERICAL) CANADA EMERGENCY WAGE SUBSIDY (CEWS)

The IAMAW along with the other Air Canada Unions entered into a Canadian Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) arrangement with Air Canada.

This new arrangement brings members on Off-Duty Status (ODS), or who were laid off after March 15, 2020, back onto the Air Canada payroll. Members will have the option of receiving a wage through the CEWS program, or applying for the Canadian Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), if they are better served financially through CERB. Members cannot receive both a wage through the CEWS and CERB benefits, but can select one of the options depending on which program offers a better financial benefit. Read Bulletin here…

LOCAL LODGE 764 AIR CANADA SHOP COMMITTEE OFFICES

As a result of Air Canada’s invocation of Article 20.14 – Off-Duty Status, Brothers Tim Murphey,
Shawn Archer and Perry Sidhu have all been placed on Off-duty status in accordance with their
seniority. At this point in time, the expected date of their return to active duty status has not been
