We have received formal written notice from the Employer, pursuant to Section 54 [1] of the Labour Relations Code, dated March 24, 2020, resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. CANCELLATION NOTICE***** APRIL 8, 2020 LOCAL LODGE 764 GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
All of our members are acutely aware that there is a rapidly evolving COVID-19 response across British Columbia with ever stricter Federal, Provincial and Municipal government directives on large gatherings and social distancing. These directives and an overriding concern for the health of our members has placed Local Lodge 764 in a difficult position. Currently the British Columbia provincial government restriction on gatherings is a maximum of fifty (50) people with a very real potential of that soon being revised downward to a maximum of ten (10) people. LOCAL LODGE 764 ELECTION CAMPAIGNING IN AIRSIDE RESTRICTED ACCESS AREAS
Local Lodge 764 and Local Lodge 16 have been informed by YVR Airport Security that they have
received a number of complaints during the last couple of weeks from employees working within
the airside restricted access area. Specifically, the complaints center around these employees
being subjected to “aggressive campaigning” by certain IAMAW members who are candidates for
election to IAMAW positions. Read bulletin here…
