Offer of temporary employment by YVR

This is available to employees impacted by the pandemic, including the Airport Authority union, the unions of our Airport Partners and our Suppliers.

They are looking to fill approximately 50 positions starting on March 16th for full-day shifts from 08:30 to 16:30 in the areas of customer service, logistics and data entry. The rate of pay of $19.50 per hour to align with Vancouver Costal Health and our other site partners, and training will be provided. As these are temporary positions, benefits are not applicable. Russell Currie Obituary

The passing of Russell Chester Currie of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Monday, February
8, 2021 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 7, 1949 in
Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Chester and Jean (Carlisle) Currie. Russell

YVR – AIR CANADA TECHNICAL OPERATIONS, LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY SHOP COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON ***NOMINATIONS***

This bulletin is to inform our members that Brother Perry Sidhu, who was elected as the Local Lodge
764 TOSC Shop Committee Chairman in December 2019, has tendered his resignation, effective
December 31, 2020.

Unfortunately, his resignation was necessitated by the IAMAW constitution. Article B, SEC. 3 of the
IAMAW constitution requires that all elected office holders within a Local Lodge must be members in
good standing of that Local Lodge. Brother Sidhu has accepted a recall to YYZ. As a result of his
recall to YYZ, his IAMAW membership transfers from LL764 to LL2323, rendering him ineligible to
hold elected office within LL764. In accordance with Local Lodge 764 Bylaws, Article II, Section 7,
because there is more than one year remaining in the current term of office (January 1, 2020 –
December 31, 2022) nominations and an election must be held to fill the vacant TOSC Chair position.

Due to the cancellation of the January 13, 2021 monthly General membership meeting and the
possibility of having to cancel the February 10, 2021 monthly General membership meeting, the

OBITUARY OF GLENN DEAN GIRARD

Glenn Girard passed away December 19, 2020 in Surrey after a long illness. Glenn was a dedicated IAM&AW LL 764 delegate to the NWDLC from May 2009 until October 2019. He was 65.
Glenn retired from Air Canada in 2019. He was socially caring, active in his Union and local politics, and a staunch supporter of the NDP. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Glenn’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
