District Bulletin 40 – AIR CANADA TMOS PENSION CAP RETROACTIVITY
Arbitrator Vince Ready has ruled in favour of the Union and ordered the pension cap increase retroactive to the effective date of the Collective Agreement, April 1, 2019.
Details regarding the process and timelines for members who wish to make retroactive contributions on their eligible pensionable earnings will be communicated as they become available. Those Members who previously elected to retire under the Early Retirement Incentive Program (ERIP) are eligible for buyback, if they so choose. Read Bulletin here…

As a follow-up to bulletin No. 005 issued on January 27th of this year, the arbitration process has now concluded for the grievances regarding one-category recall. This arbitration hearing was raised to a full evidentiary process and the parties required three (3) full days to make all arguments. With reference to DL140 Bulletin No. 019 – 2021, this document is written to more fully explain the options provided to our members under the terms of the April 9, 2021, Lay Off Mitigation Program (Pension) Memorandum of Agreement between the IAMAW and Air Canada.
Specifically, this Pension MOA provides our members with an option for either an additional “Temporary Pension” under Section II of the MOA or an “Unreduced Pension from 55/80” under Section III of the MOA.
This Pension MOA is applicable to all IAMAW members within all three (3) of the Air Canada IAMAW Clerical, Finance and TMOS bargaining units who are members of the legacy Air Canada Defined Benefit pension plan. Read Bulletin here…
