District Bulletin 05 – AIR CANADA UNIFORM UPDATE

Over the past several weeks District Lodge 140 has been in discussion with Air
Canada management regarding the new uniform allotments issued, carry over
monetary balances that have been frozen or wiped out entirely and the 2018 $170.00
allowance as per Article 20.01.02 of the Collective Agreement.

Canada Wide Call to Action in support of Tim Hortons Workers, Friday January 19th

Over the past two weeks, millions of Canadians have voiced their disgust and displeasure with the retaliatory measures taken by several Tim Hortons franchise owners in Ontario, against their workforce.
The Ontario Federation of Labour is calling on every provincial and territorial labour federation, as well as affiliates, labour councils, activists, students and retirees – join us in this campaign for decent work. The Canada-Wide Day of Action in support of Tim Hortons workers is Friday, January 19, 2018.

IAMAW MEMBERS EMPLOYED BY GARDAWORLD TORONTO BASED MEMBERS:
As you may be aware, the IAMAW is in the process of unionizing the GardaWorld SPMs working at the Toronto Airports, following decisions by the Canadian Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) which has already recognized this group of employees as appropriate for unionization in previous organizing campaigns that took place at the Vancouver and Winnipeg airports.
