This Bulletin is to highlight a few of the recent changes to Part III of the Canada Labour Code that may be of significance to some of our members in federally regulated workplaces.
Part III of the Canada Labour Code sets out minimum standards. That means that where your collective agreement already provides more favourable benefits, those benefits remain in place and the Code’s provisions do not apply. However, recent changes may give new rights to some of our members working under collective agreement provisions that were put in place before the new rights became law. Read Bulletin here…

AIR CANADA – TMOS NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE

Further to the last bulletin dated August 23, 2019, your TMOS Bargaining Committees have been actively preparing for binding arbitration. Through discussions with Mediator Vince Ready, the parties have agreed to make one final attempt at mediation. Talks are scheduled for December 12th in Vancouver.

AIR CANADA – TMOS NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE – August 23, 2019

In accordance with Appendix XXXIV, item 7e), your 2019 – 2022 TMOS Negotiating Committee concluded mediation discussions with Air Canada and Vince Ready on August 23rd.
The mediation process concluded early as it was clear a negotiated deal was not attainable. The committee is extremely frustrated that Air Canada continued to show little interest in meaningful negotiations. It has been agreed that the parties will proceed to the next phase of the process which is binding arbitration. District Bulletin 41 – AIR CANADA – TMOS NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE – July 29, 2019

Your 2019 – 2022 TMOS Negotiating Committee commenced mediation discussions with Air Canada and Vince Ready on July 22nd and 23rd. Air Canada demonstrated much of the same disinterest in meaningful negotiations that they displayed during the first 90 days of the process. The Committee remains undeterred and focused. Mediation talks will resume the week of August 12th and continue the week of August 19th.  Read Bulletin here…

2009 Air Canada Share Trust Agreement Update #2

Council of Unions was able to secure a second meeting with the Company on this matter. That
