MTU – LOCAL LODGE 764 NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE – NOVEMBER 29, 2018

Further to our bulletin of November 6, 2018, the parties met in Mediation on November 27 & 28, 2018 with the assistance of our Mediator at the Labour Relations Board. The parties made progress on the remaining issues in dispute and have agreed to one (1) additional day of mediation on Thursday, December 6, 2018, to hopefully finalize a tentative agreement for your consideration. If a volunteer does not step forward for this vacancy it will remain unfilled and YVR will not have a direct bargaining representative for the Technical Operations, Logistics and Supply work group in the 2019 round of collective bargaining. MTU MAINTENANCE – NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE – NOVEMBER 6, 2018

On October 3, 2018, the Union filed for the appointment of a Mediation Officer, pursuant to Section 74(1) of the Labour Relations Code.
Your Negotiations Committee resumed direct bargaining with the Company on October 16 – 18, 2018, as previously scheduled, in our continued effort to narrow the issues in disputes between the parties, prior to commencing mediation. Regrettable, we were unable to reach a Tentative Agreement that would satisfy the Membership in areas that you told us were of critical importance to resolve.
