AIR CANADA – TMOS NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE – APRIL 1, 2019

Your 2019 – 2022 TMOS Negotiating Committees continued direct bargaining with Air Canada from March 25th – March 29th in Vancouver. Discussions transpired regarding Common, Tech-Ops, Airports/Cargo and Pension issues. The Committee will be meeting with Air Canada again the week of April 8th to build on the progress made so far. The Transportation District 140 Executive Board is pleased to announce that we have received approval from the Grand Lodge to commence an Organizer Eastern Region position. The term of office shall be from April 1, 2019 through to December 31, 2019. On Friday Feb 22, 2019, the Vancouver Airport Authority (YVR) announced they will be switching food service operators at the White Spot, Burger King and Café Brioche units. This could result in over 90 of us losing our jobs at YVR! Most of us are women – many of us immigrated to Canada – and have worked at the airport for over a decade. Because of contract-flipping, we can be replaced by workers who will be paid lower wages to perform the same work. Please add your name to our petition here!
