MTU – LOCAL LODGE 764 NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE

Your Bargaining Committee met internally on June 5 & 6, 2024 to continue our preparations for the upcoming round of collective bargaining.
We will be meeting in direct bargaining with the Company commencing on June 19 – 21, 2024.
In the bargaining survey, you indicated that your preferred method of communication from the Bargaining Committee is by email. The Committee has been in the workplace collecting your personal (non-work related) emails in order to ensure we are communicating with you in a timely manner throughout the bargaining process. This information will also be utilized for the ratification process. District Bulletin 17 – AIR CANADA 6 DAY RULE GRIEVANCE UPDATE

Your Committee of General Chairperson met to discuss the 6-day rule grievances. We met with our legal counsel which provided much needed information and context. Given the information provided, we have chosen to follow the recommendation that was presented to us.
Unfortunately, we will not be moving forward at this time with the grievance in arbitration and will be attempting to obtain a resolution via the negotiations process. There is a willingness to put a process in place by both parties. If a resolution can be met prior to negotiations, we will advise the membership.  Read Bulletin here…

District Bulletin 16 – AIR CANADA OFF DUTY STATUS GRIEVANCE UPDATE

The Union met with the Company at the end of April, 2024 and beginning of May, 2024, in another attempt to finalize the “Off Duty Status” grievance that was won by your Union almost three (3) years ago. Although the first portion of this grievance has been resolved, with many of our affected members being made whole, the last portion of this grievance has yet to be concluded.  Read Bulletin here…

Local Lodge 764 is inviting all of our members to participate in a quick five (5) question online survey that will help to provide guidance to your Local Lodge. The newly formed LL764 Membership Engagement Committee (MEC) is conducting the survey. It is designed to give the committee a very basic understanding of the issues that are important to our members. We are writing to provide you with an update to the National Arbitration held on February 20, 2024, regarding our grievance concerning the Company’s clawback due to Vacation reconciliation for members who were on CEWS (Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy) during the pandemic.
With sincere disappointment, we regret to inform you that the grievance has been dismissed by the Arbitrator.
