David Roy GOOCH – Obituary

After retiring from the RAF, David immigrated permanently to Canada in 1973, where he had a long successful career in aviation and labour relations, with Eastern Provincial Airways, Canadian Airlines and Air Canada. He later joined the Halifax office of the Canada Industrial Relations Board, retiring in 2012. Obituary Here…

AIR CANADA PENSION SEMINARS – YVR

Pension seminars are scheduled for all interested IAM & AW Members employed by Air Canada. The seminars will deal with the legacy Air Canada Defined Benefit and MEPP Pension plans for both ex-CAIL and original Air Canada members

LABOUR DAY (Sept 4, 2023) VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The Local Lodge has sponsored the POPCORN TENT at this years Labour day
activity. The Labour Day celebration is at Edmonds Park, Burnaby (7433 Humphries Ave).

We are looking for volunteers to be able to setup, serve the public and clean up
afterwards. (9:00am-3:30pm)

ALL LOCAL LODGE 764 MEMBERS IAMAW COMMITTEE OF THE FUTURE MEETINGS

Future meetings. These meetings are an opportunity for you to bring forward any ideas, comments, complaints, or suggestions that you have about any aspect of the IAMAW. The Committee is looking for members’ suggestions about the structure of the IAMAW, organizing, union-building, staffing, representation, bargaining structure, member engagement, community presence, priorities you want your Union to focus on and any other aspect of the IAMAW that you would like to discuss.

There are two Committee of the Future meetings scheduled for Vancouver on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 and all Local Lodge 764 members are invited to attend either, or both, of them depending upon your availability. Read Bulletin here…

As most of you know, your Disability Program (ILIP) pays a Short and Long-Term disability benefit when you’re unable to continue working due to disability. The Plan continues to support you and your family financially on your path to recovery.
The primary fiduciary responsibility of your Trustees is to ensure the long term viability of the plan on an ongoing basis. During the past two years the ILIP Plan has experienced a significant increase in utilization. In response to the April 13, 2023 bulletin advising of the recent vacancy for this position, Local Lodge 764 has received one (1) application. I would like to inform our members that Brother James Ainscow has graciously volunteered to put his name forward for this position.
