The IAMAW would like to provide communication on the CO-OP program currently initiated in YYC, YUL and YYZ.
MOA 14, Work placement Programs (CO-OP) came about in the last round of collective bargaining. In addition to
MOA 14, Transportation District 140 has signed a separate Memorandum of Agreement (dated July 21, 2017)
outlining the conditions and expectations of this program. The intent of this agreement is to ensure a positive and
healthy work environment, attracting a steady and stable stream of up and coming industry professionals. You can

As you may have heard, the Flight Attendants’ Union (CUPE) has filed a grievance
concerning Air Canada’s decision to provide B1 travel passes to the pilots.
CUPE’s grievance is based on promises alleged to have been made by the Company
to CUPE’s Bargaining Committee in 2011 that the Company had no intention of giving
to one group of employees superior travel benefits over another group. Read Bulletin here…

Air Canada has signed an agreement with GOGO Wifi to subcontract maintenance of this system to 3rd party. Our position as always, maintenance on Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge airframes and their associated components is IAMAW member scope work. We have filed a grievance. Read Bulletin here…

District Lodge 140 is aware of Air Canada’s initiative to limit ACM employees from working more than six (6) days consecutively.

Please be advised all District Lodge 140 offices will be closed on
Friday, June 30, 2017 in observance of Canada Day on Saturday,

Transportation District 140’s Legal Counsel is continuing the process of gathering relevant facts and preparing the LTD Termination grievance for arbitration. In accordance with Transportation District Lodge 140 Policy No. 41, we are posting for the position of the Air Canada IAMAW Pension Committee Retiree Representative. The initial term of office for the Air Canada IAMAW Pension Committee Retiree Representative shall commence on January 1, 2018 and the term of office shall be four (4) years. The IAMAW was verbally notified on Friday May 5, 2017 by Air Canada of their intent to
subcontract ten (10) B767 summer readiness reliance checks to Kelowna Flightcraft in YHM.
Written notification was subsequently provided on Monday, May 8, 2017. Air Canada continues

Further to Bulletin 002, issued January 25, 2017, Air Canada has recently mailed overtime inclusion forms to all applicable Air Canada members of the IAMAW MEPP Pension Plan. These forms were all sent out by the end of March and must be returned no later than June 15, 2017.
This form allows our members to include their overtime earnings as part of their pensionable earnings in the MEPP. Both the member and Air Canada will contribute their required 6% on all overtime earnings to the MEPP as soon as the member submits their form indicating that they wish to include their overtime as part of their pensionable earnings.
