- David Chartrand IAM Canadian General Vice-President – upcoming certification vote
As you know, there will be an upcoming certification vote for you to decide whether you will remain an IAM Union member. This vote will take place online so you can vote without fear of reprisal and your vote will remain confidential. I am asking you to consider this: What is AMFA going to do for you?
• Does AMFA have the infrastructure to fight an evil, well-oiled machine in Air Canada?
• Does AMFA have a Pension Plan?
• Am I going to be a second-class citizen at AMFA?
• Am I leaving money on the table?
• Will AMFA protect my job when they have a history of outsourcing?

It is with great enthusiasm that we inform our members that the GVP, Brother Dave Chartrand, has granted dispensation to add one (1) Western Region (BC) Screener General Chairperson. Read Bulletin here… - MTU MAINTENANCE CANADA LTD. LOCAL LODGE 764 RATIFICATION RESULTS

- 2009 Share Trust Update
In our July 2024 update, we mentioned that we were waiting for amendments to federal Income Tax Regulations (ITR). We are pleased to share that these amendments were approved and implemented in March 2025.
Unfortunately, the federal amendments took much longer than we would have expected or wanted, even with support from all parties. As a result, it’s unlikely that VSPs and lump sum payments to pensioners will be offered or paid before early 2026. The Company has committed to moving forward as quickly as possible, but they don’t control the timing for all approvals and conditions, so further delays are possible.

Further to our communication of April 4, 2025, the employer advised yesterday, that they are not available to meet on any of the eight (8) additional dates proposed by your Committee. Accordingly, direct bargaining will not resume until Thursday, April 17, 2025.
Either party can bring the formal mediation process to an end by asking the Mediator to report out. On April 8, 2025, we formally requested that the Mediator report out of the mediation process. The Mediator will now advise the Associate Chair of Mediation, who will formally confirm, in writing to the parties, that the Mediator is reporting out. Read Bulletin here…

- MTU – LOCAL LODGE 764 COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UPDATE – SOLIDARITY
Thank you to everyone who participated in the information sessions on March 19, 2025. The turn out was amazing! Being armed with the facts strengthens our solidarity. The economic status update we presented to the employer on March 15, 2025 is available from the Committee upon request or you can arrange to view the presentation through the Senior Steward at the Union’s office on site.
Many of you again shared your concerns with the Committee regarding the employer’s communication of March 17, 2025. While we share your concerns with this approach to collective bargaining, it remains our view that the employer’s communications are a direct response to the solidarity and resolve of the membership.
