I would ask that someone from every work location to please take responsibility for collecting them on Friday April 29th and returning them to the Local Lodge. You can slip them through the mail slot if there is no one in the Lodge.

The MPs listed on this email are members of the House of Commons Transportation Committee or prominent members of the Liberal Caucus from various regions of the country. The Bill C-10, An Act to Amend the Air Canada Public Participation Act, is receiving second reading and discussion in the House of Commons today, April 15th, 2016 prior to being sent to the Transportation Committee. The Committee will be considering and making recommendations or amendments on Bill C-10 during Committee hearings in early May

If we as a group wish to have any effect on the outcome of this pending legislation it will need to be done within the next two weeks.

I am out of town from April 18th to 29th so I will not be available to assist with this process petition or MP visits prior to the end of April nor am I available to go to YOW in May.

If any members of the Local are interested in participating in this petition circulation, MP visits and lobbying campaign please contact Janet Andrews (cc’d on this email) who will be able to help co-ordinate and assist you with any questions you may have.

For those of you who were so disgracefully Aveosed in 2012, we came within a hair’s breadth of affecting a positive outcome on saving the jobs at that time as a result of our lobbying in Victoria to the Provincial government and in Lower Mainland municipalities where we got the support of four city councils. All that stopped us from keeping that work here in 2012 was the absolute intransigence of the Harper Government to act on behalf of the citizens of Canada in our fight against the Corporations of Canada.

PLEASE DO NOT LET HISTORY REPEAT ITSELF WITH ANOTHER FEDERAL GOVERNEMENT FAILING TO ACT TO HELP MAINTAIN OUR JOBS IN THIS COUNTRY.

Now is the time to see just how Sunny Justin Trudeau’s Ways really are.

I thank all of you who are interested in helping to move forward with this issue on this very short timeline.

Political lobbying is like playing the lottery. Your chances of winning are not great but I can guarantee you that if you don’t play you can’t win.
